Syrah 2008
Tasting notes
A very charming "Vintage Revealing" wine that is like a breath of fresh air. A cooler growing season and a small crop make for telling versions of the varieties we all know and love. Fresh varietal fruit and a balanced barrel extraction is the signature of this wine. Syrah is much the comfort food of wines with it’s strength, size and warmth. Barrel time softened the tannins and earth to create a luscious mouth filling texture. Berry tones and a magnificent middle, followed with a silky tannin finish, create a balance on the palate. This keeps me thinking about the charm of a cooler clime version of Syrah.
